I wonder just how early we have to be at the airport to make my daughter's wedding in Mexico?
Time sure does fly!
Leaving tomorrow and coming back on Monday! Good thing I have my animal sitter!
Creating Art for my living is what I do! Watch the artwork evolve and see how I juggle real life and creativity as a working artist! Along with my Artist husband, Stephen Filarsky, we built our Art Studio from a 1910 house. Here, I specialize in fine art portraits of adults, children, horses and dogs in oils, watercolors, pastels and graphite.Join me on my blog as I work in my creative space and share life on my mini farm and studio with you!

Paint and Sell DOG PORTRAITS! Art Marketing, painting
What a fun class we had on June 12!
It was a full house and the participants were all delighted to leave with a completed portrait!Whether or not they ever wanted to sell a portrait was not the real motivation-it was the desire to learn a new skill and then continue with the practice!
Ah well if you missed it you can order the DVD!

Regal Pit Bull
And from one breed to another....this rather regal looking pit bull.
I knew those years as a dog show handler would come in handy!
Each breed of dog has it's own "eye." Not everyone should own a pit bull nor should everyone own a corgi, or a poodle......
Created with pastels, this 11 x 14 portrait captures just what is necessary in this breed!

Corgi Eyes!
How can you possibly resist such a face?
This 11 x 14 pastel of Pembroke Welsh Corgi was created from my photo using pastels and sponges. The effect is soft, yet clear!

The Art Studio in Spring
Well I went on and on in our newsletter about our many blooming old roses at our studio! So I have included some of my favorite photos!
This is a view of the studio from the garden. The fencing, did you notice, are old tobacco sticks!
To really enjoy our spring garden and see more of our studio, click here!

Graduation Portraits
It's that time of year again when the Graduation Portraits become popular! Parents love the childhood portraits but there is something about that "coming of age" time where many new chapters both open and close in the life of a parent and their young adult.
This is a pastel of "Candace". It's the very popular gift sized, "cameo" portrait created from a photo that her mom gave me. Ah, 18!
